Those of us who wanted Paris Jackson to pick up where her father Michael left off, are going to have to keep on waiting. Paris is going to be featured in the 10th issue of CR Fashion Book, along with the cover, and she explains that she has no desire to be a musician. The 18-year-old daughter of MJ explains that she wants to pursue other passions such modeling and acting.
While Paris does dabble in songwriting and that she feels music is therapeutic, she is afraid that becoming a musician will change how she feels about music in general.
I write music for myself. I use it as a way to get stuff out. It’s not something I see myself following career-wise. There are so many amazing artists in my family. If I were to do it as a career, it would change how I feel about music and I don’t want that to happen.
Now while Paris at the moment doesn’t feel like being in the music industry, it doesn’t mean that things might not change in the future. Her father Michael is her number one inspiration she goes on to say, and that means a lot.
All of my inspiration, I would say 99 percent of my inspiration, comes from him, because he has always been my world. He is my roots.
Michael died in June of 2009 from an apparent medication overdose when Paris was still very young. Had Michael been alive today, who knows how that could have shaped his daughter and the passions that she now has. Whether it’s a career in music, acting, or posing for pictures as a modeling superstar, she will be successful. The many fans who love her father will continue to look forward to a day that she can pick up where he left off.
